Kyle showed an interest in computer gaming and aviation since he was little. He built his first gaming computer in the middle school. Kyle also gained an early interest in Virtual Reality and flight simulation technologies. Along with Patrick Keating, he helps operate the Virtual Reality Lab at the University of North Dakota. While at the University of North Dakota, Kyle has taken lessons in aerobatics from Professor Michael Lents, hoping to eventually compete with the school’s team.

Kyle is a Certified Commercial Multi-Engine Instrument Pilot with a Complex Aircraft Endorsement.

Kyle is a graduate at the University of North Dakota finishing his Bachelor of Science degree in Commercial Aviation.

Biography

My name is Kyle Weller. I was born and raised in Virginia. I have been playing games since I was a little. I built my first computer in middle school and I have been hooked ever since. I am now the person everyone comes to when they need advice on building a PC.

My senior year of high school I crowdfunded and built a mobile VR cart for teachers to use. I am currently a student at the University of North Dakota pursuing a degree in commercial aviation.

I have my commercial multi engine instrument rating and about one more year before I graduate. My freshman year I was able to combine my passion for aviation and computers. In almost a natural stepping stone from my VR cart, I was hired by the university to develop a VR flight training lab for students. It took two years to develop and build and now I currently manage it while working on ways to improve the experience.

I am excited to have the opportunity to compete in Jet 1 Cup and push forward the future of aviation and gaming.
